RE: Fort Bend Gridiron Fall 2021 Tackle Season Registration Information
"Building Character and Community Through Youth Football"
First off, thank you to all those interested in signing up for the upcoming season in 2021. I am sure that you and your player are anxious to have life get back to something that seems a bit more normal, and what is more normal than football in the fall in Texas!
Registration for the Gridiron fall season of tackle football will open May 5, 2021 and run through July 28, 2021.
The following link will take you to the registration page:
We believe Gridiron cultivates a smarter, safer way to play youth football by partnering with national youth sports organizations and local health organizations and strictly abiding to their guidance. Gridiron has always strived to push the community ideal and it has been our goal to strengthen our communities and teach our players not just about the fundamentals of football, but how they can be better members of our communities. With our communities in mind this year, and with so many of us still feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our desire to try to assist those affected. Gridiron pledges to help subsidize the cost of registration for the Fall 2021 Tackle/Flag football and cheerleading season for many who register.
There are three ways to qualify for a reduced registration cost:
- If your player, prior to the school year shutdown, qualified for a free or reduced school lunch, they will qualify for a scholarship to help offset some and possibly all of the season registration cost.
- When registering, if you will let us know how this virus has negatively affected your family, you also may qualify for scholarship assistance.
- In the event you have been fortunate enough at the time of registration to have avoided being substantially affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, it does not mean your player is exempt from scholarship opportunities. For those less affected, if your player or cheerleader will send us a one page essay telling us why football or cheer is important to them, why they want to play and for those who have played, what they have learned from the game, they will also qualify for scholarship opportunities. Please have your athlete write the letter and then send us an email copy of the original for board review.
A reduced registration cost will primarily be determined based on the number of athletes signing up for the various seasons and the amount we have budgeted for this endeavor. For that reason, upon signup, full registration cost will be charged, but those that qualify for a scholarship in any amount will have those amounts refunded to them after registration is complete. It will be at the discretion of the board on how to allocate available funds to those who qualify.
Thank you all for your time and support of our great organization. We ask that you get the word out and sign your boys up to compete with us this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either Ryan Currie (email@example.com), Mark Lee (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jon Zurek (email@example.com). They will get back with you as quickly as possible.
